Attention Team Captains and Representatives Attached is a race day schedule that will give everyone a rough idea of the events for both days. We have the Race Gridout as well with the teams placed in heats. For now this should help with your planning. In general, we have moved the commencement of races back a bit on Saturday to accomodate a number of paddlers. Registration will open at 7:00 AM on Saturday, Festival Captains meeting at 8:00, and First Race of the Day at 9:00 AM. We begin with first round of PDBA races and move to mainly festival races all afternoon as shown. Sunday will be Final PDBA round in the morning, with Festival 20 man finals for all divisions also. Ten Man races should start by 10:30 at the latest on Sunday. Please remember that the schedule is tentative but should be pretty close. PDBA Racing Rules 10/16/2011

San Diego in October could be glorious, hot & sunny (like today) or misty mornings (like last year). If your team is flying in to town and would like to borrow a shade pop-up tent for Saturday & Sunday, please make sure we know ahead of time by emailing a request to dragonboatsd@gmail.com with "tent" in the subject line. If you are wondering about food during the San Diego Dragon Boat race, the answer is YES! There will be lots of yummy food vendors to choose from for your lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Hi Team Captains, Coaches and Leaders! I have some important news for you and your paddlers: 1. If you haven't sent in your team application yet, and your team is planning to come, then you must call Jeanette at 760-805-7765 to get penciled in on the race grid and let her know your plans ASAP! 2. If your Team is arriving early on Friday, October 21st and would like to practice, send an email with "Friday practice" in the subject line and let us know what time and what size boat 10 or 20? So we can try to accommodate your paddlers. Your team & paddlers need to have signed and submitted the waiver before practicing in the SD boats. 3. Note: Teams can send in signed team waivers now, or they are all due on race morning before 8am. 4. Last call for Team Bio's and photos for brochure and webpage! (Please put "Team bio" in subject line of email) 5. Last call for 10 man TEAMS to get in the race for the money prize!!! Call Jeanette. 6. The 2 closest hotels (less than a mile), the Hilton & Best Western, are sold out...but San Diego has plenty of amazing hotels within 5 miles of the race site...see below for a few suggestions. 6. Special Request: We hope for sun and plan for rain...If your team is driving to San Diego from LA or AZ, could you please bring a few extra shade tents to share with teams who are flying in to town? Just label your tent with your team name, and drop it off at the SCORA van registration table on Saturday morning. All tents will be returned Sunday afternoon. Thank you for sharing if you can! They have been updated and published for your team captains to get you organized for a weekend of dragon boat racing in San Diego, California!
